Join us on November 13, 2021 for the Palms Springs Celebrity Classic benefiting the American Legion. Enjoy a fun day of golf at the award-winning Desert Dunes Golf Club designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.After a great round of golf, be our guest for gourmet dinner, awards ceremony, first-class entertainment, and meet your favorite celebrity. Your participation will support the American Legion and further their work to enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by their devotion to mutual helpfulness.

ANDRE REED CELEBRITY HOST

Andre Darnell Reed (born January 29, 1964) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills. He played college football at Kutztown and was selected by the Bills in the fourth round of the 1985 NFL Draft. Following 15 seasons with the Bills, where he earned Pro Bowl honors seven times, Reed spent his final season as a member of the Washington Redskins in 2000.

Reed currently ranks eighteenth in NFL history in total career receptions with 951. At the time of his retirement, Reed was second in all-time in career receptions. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

DANA PARKS CELEBRITY HOST

Dana Sparks began a an international model and became a well-known actress. Dana has starred in the TV series Passions, Jag, Star Trek, and The Young and the Restless. And recently call starred in the Euro TV series, Mud on Your Tires, in Belgrade, Serbia.

CHRIS MULKEY CELEBRITY HOST

Chris Mulkey has enjoyed a long and diverse acting career in both film and television. His favorite projects include Rambo First Blood, Twin Peaks, Any Day Now, Broken Trail, Captain Phillips, Boardwalk Empire, and The John Gotti story. Chris is also a singer songwriter. You can listen to his music on iTunes and Spotify.

David Naughton

David was the spokesman for Dr Pepper in the late seventies which led him to star and record the title song for his series, “Makin It.”

He then met John Landis who cast him in the lead role of his horror classic, “An American Werewolf In London”

Ricky Ellis – Goals For Life Deputy Director

Ricky Ellis has worked as a life skills counselor with Goals for Life since 1991. He is passionate about the youth in our community and provides them with skills to make better choices and promote good health.

Ricky played football at Cal State University Fullerton, where he graduated with a BS degree. He went on to play eight years of professional football, starting with the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL), followed by the British Columbia Lions (Canadian Football League) and the L.A. Express (United States Football League). Ricky retired from the Houston Oilers in 1985. During his playing days, Ricky was an All-Pro Tight End and was nominated for “Man of the Year” for his community service.

Ricky is a retired State Parole Agent, Specialist II, from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Justice. He has served Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties for 25 years working with troubled juveniles from ages 8 to 25 years old. He was presented with “The Most Outstanding Parole Agent Award” from the California Volunteers in Parole, a group of lawyers throughout the state that work with parolees and parole agents to make life changing differences. Ricky was also awarded “Parole Agent of the Year” by the California Parole and Probation Association for his tireless efforts assisting parolees in transitioning back into the community.

Ricky is a recipient of the “Medal of Valor” from the Department of Youth Authority for his outstanding service to the public through the apprehension of violent criminals, confiscation of numerous weapons and illegal narcotics, as well as performing life threatening duties for 12 years while working with the Gang Information and Apprehension Unit.

Concurrently, Ricky has taught Criminal Justice courses at Mount San Antonio College. He is on the Goals For Life Board of Directors. He is the founder of AIMBIG (Athletes in Ministry – Believers in God), a spirit filled youth ministry that teaches life skills and positive alternatives. Ricky is the current President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the NFL Players Association. He is also a member of the Lions Club. For the past three decades, Ricky has worked with charitable agencies and community service groups.
